Generally, there are four types of Harley jackets. All have the same rugged attitude, but each with their own unique style.

The most popular type of Harley jackets are the leather jackets. Made with real leather, they have a luxurious look and feel. While there is not a lot of variety in terms of color and shape, the emblem and decals can be custom designed for each customer. These jackets are also the most expensive, but they are by far the most durable type of jacket on the market.

The only downfall to the leather jacket is that it can only be worn during the coldest month. When worn during warmer weather, there is a potential of overheating. Recently, Harley has begun creating jackets with a perforated support to prevent greater airflow. This should be taken into consideration when purchasing a leather Harley jacket. The traditional type will be extremely insulating, and the perforated type will be less warm, but available during a broader range of weather.

Harley also offers synthetic jackets that have the look of the leather jacket, but without the high price tag. One of the advantages of this option is that the jackets are available in a larger selection of colors. While it is not quite as popular as the leather jackets, it has some advantages not available with the leathers. For example, because the price is significantly lower, Harley fans can buy a heavy jacket for the winter months and a lighter one for warmer weather for the price of a single leather jacket. Unfortunately, the synthetic jacket is not as durable as the leather style, as would be expected.

The least expensive of the Harley jackets are the denim and nylon jackets. This is much more a matter of fashion preference as opposed to a jacket that is bought for a purpose. However, that is not to say that these jackets do not have their advantages. The denim provides durability in a casual piece that is perfect for summer nights. The nylon provides weatherproof resistance that no other style can offer. Many times, the denim and nylon Harley jackets provide more comfort and style than luxury.

The last type of Harley jacket is the women’s category. While all the other jackets are made small enough to accommodate a small-framed woman, many women prefer a more feminine look to their Harley jacket. They are cut to suit a women’s curvatures and even have pockets designed for daintier hands. The women’s Harley jackets range from heavy leather “biker chick” styles to pink, delicate spring throws.
